Spamming
Do not post irrelevant, off-topic or redundant posts on the message boards. They annoy those who are visiting the forums looking for legitimate information. The majority of users despise Spam in all forms. Avoid it at all costs. This especially applies to posts that do little or nothing to contribute to the forums.

Expressing Agreement / Bumping
This is the act of posting 1 or 2 word posts that are intended simply to express your agreement and/ or to increase the ranking of your post. Please try to avoid such posts as they don't do much to contribute to the discussion. Instead, perhaps try to explain why you agree or try to add something relevant to the discussion.

Avoid Duplicate Posts
Use the Search to ensure your question has not already been asked and/or answered before posting. This will prevent forum members from becoming upset; tired of seeing the same issues raised over and over again.

Use Correct Spelling and Punctuation.
Make an effort to write correctly, ('u' for 'you'; 'k' for 'okay'; 'cuz' for 'because', etc.) is becoming less acceptable as Internet forums and message boards become more sophisticated and draw more professional users. LOL = Laugh out loud, LMHO = Laughing my head off - are permitted.

Do Not Write In All CAPITALS
In online chat, writing in all capitals usually indicates the speaker is shouting. However, in genealogy forums posts are usually written in lower and upper case however, SURNAMES should always be in caps.

We may, at our sole discretion, suspend or terminate the registration of any user who violates any of the terms contained in this page or for any behaviour we believe is inappropriate regardless of whether or not a technical breach of the rules has or has not taken place. ------------
There is a Forum for each Caribbean island (i.e. Antigua Forum, Barbados Forum and so on). If you would like to know about John Smith from Barbados, then you would write your question in the Barbados forum.

It is very important to create a post before logging out, if you don't and someone from your island stops by, there will be nothing for them to see and no one for them to connect with. We can't help you along if you don't ask the questions. Terry Forsythe / Admin
